The grass circle has been completed with the addition of new plants and shrubs. The large Maple tree provides shade for morning coffee at the picnic table. It is open to all to use and enjoy. The green space, located beside the Congregational Church, was a dream that began over two years ago. It was funded through a matching grant from Better Places through the Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development and through donations from area businesses, organizations and individuals living in Springfield area. It is a place built by the community for the community. The Mission Statement of the Congregational Church, UCC lives out the dream, “We are a community in Christ, called to act with love toward our neighbors.”
